My parents came down recently and they love to go and explore Hollywood. They are always looking for things to do in Hollywood. We walk down the walk of fame, visit the Kodak theatre, and compare our hands to those in the cement at the Chinese Theatre. However, this time we went we experienced something a little new. We went to the Hollywood Wax Museum. The Hollywood Wax Museum was a perfect outing for my Hollywood lovin’ parents. It was super easy to get to. It was smack dab in the middle of all of the places we go to anyway so we found it pretty easily.
See. We aren’t even in the door and they were already loving it. Once in we started studying up close all the features of the celebrities. We were surprised when we thought someone was shorter or taller than what we thought.
Each wax figure is a piece of art. According to the Hollywood Wax Museum they have worked with numerous sculptors, mold makers and finishers to create the life-like wax figures. Differences between the figures are based on that particular artist. They also survey the guests about their favorite figures and who they would like to see. They replace the least favorites and add new ones. It keeps the museum updated and fresh. What I really liked about the museum was the backdrops. They did a really good job of setting the scene with the wax figure. It lead to some really fun photos. I have one of Hef and my mom that I am not suppose to post. 🙂
Ever wonder where my B – Brendan got his name? I’ll keep it short. See that picture above with J and Brendan Frasier. When we were dating he would get stopped ALLTHETIME by strangers saying he looks just like Brendan Frasier. When I was pregnant and picking names I joked we should just name him Brendan. It stuck. 😉
It was fun trying to come up with poses for all the different celebrities. I think my parents had a great time and it was fun little outing!! Afterward, we ate some lunch then headed to Griffith Park. It was a pretty fun day. If you ever need a day out with family in town this is definitely worth the stop! Family fun for everyone.
