Yesterday, I brought you a little taste of what Plaid Crafts is rolling out with this year. Amazing stuff, right!? Today, I wanted to share with you all the things I did at the CHA (Crafts and Hobby Association) Mega show!
It will be like I stuffed you in my over sized apple juice stained purse! Are you ready?!
The first night they had a block party for everyone. They had a band, drinks, food trucks, a photo booth, and caricature artists! Amy from One Artsy Mama was my partner in crime that weekend and we had a blast! I have been following her blog forever but this was the first time we met! We had so much fun.
The next day was the big day! It was time for the convention show floor to open. Everyone stood outside for the doors to open. It was crazy!
I had to high tail it over to the Silhouette America Booth. I was invited to help them demonstrate a make and take at their booth. Amanda from the Silhouette Design Team also came to help! She runs a blog called Popper and Mimi and it is adorable. She is amazing at paper crafting! It was great getting a chance to meet her and Jeana from the Silhouette blog. I can’t tell you how relieved I was when I found out we were making aprons using heat transfer vinyl. I was all over that!!
Side note: We did not coordinate our outfits! It was totally coincidental. We are just cool like that.
Here is a peek of what the Silhouette booth looked like. I spied the robot shirt I made for the Silhouette blog a few months ago! That was so cool they included it on their booth. Jeana from the Silhouette Blog actually designed and put the whole booth together. It was so cute.
After my time was over at the Silhouette I hooked back up with Amy and we had fun visiting all the booths on the showroom floor!
We stopped by the Duck Tape booth and had a tour of their bus and made duck tape bracelets.
I loved the Camelot Fabrics booth. I am such a sucker for pretty fabrics. They had this amazing fabric that had an adhesive back to it. Without any sewing at all, I attached the adhesive fabric to a piece of felt. I made this coffee cozie using the adhesive fabric. It took all of 5 minutes! I keep it in my purse so I look super fancy when I go to Starbucks. Speaking of Starbucks….
It’s true. One Artsy Mama readers Amy loves her Starbucks!
After the show was over, we were invited to a networking reception for bloggers hosted by Prime Publishing.
We partied the night away and met up with some great brands!
The next morning I met back up with Amy and had that awesome breakfast with Plaid Crafts. If you didn’t catch that post be sure to check it out here.
That was my first CHA Mega Show experience in a nutshell. It was just so fun to be there and try out all the new craft products. I can’t wait for next year!
