Hi Friends!!!
Remember yesterday’s glittery mason jar?! Here is what it turned into…a valentine mason jar gift for B’s teacher!
I fell in love with this saying I found off of Pinterest. Keeping the heart theme I placed Dove heart shaped chocolate in the jar.
See the glitter?!? I really love how that Mod Podge Extreme Glitter add a little something extra to this gift. I added some jute and a little tag that says Happy Valentine’s Day.
I printed the label out on card stock. I then added just a touch of Elmer’s Fine Line craft glue around the edge of the jar. I placed the printable on my lid and set aside for it to dry. You can also use hot glue. Just a little around the edge of the jar lid will go a long way. Trim off any excess paper. Once dry, add your candy and close up the jar!

Update 2015: I have added another version of this jar that reads “It takes a big heart to care for little people”. You can download the caregiver version here:
** In this printable I included 3 wide mouth jar prints and 1 regular mouth print. Mason jar lids come in 2 sizes wide and regular. So it does not matter what size jar you will use this printable will work for both.
For my project I used a 16 oz. Wide Mouth jar like this one Jarden Home Brands 4Pk 16Oz Platinum Jars 1440061180 Canning Jars (affiliate link)
If you want something smaller I would suggest this 8 oz wide mouth version: Jarden Home Brands 4Pk 8Oz Platinum Jar 1440061162 Canning Jars

The font I used for this printable is Cupid De Locke. It was featured in my favorite valentine font round up.
I hope B’s teacher loves her gift!! Are you making anything for your kid’s teacher for valentine’s day? Leave a link below! I would love to see it!
I had a little help eating some of the candies after the shoot. He was swiping chocolate the entire time I was taking pictures.
Have a great weekend!
<3
Such a nice gift. I love the saying too.
Thanks Glenna!
When using the mod glitter did you paint the outside or inside of the mason jar
Love this idea! Did you use s 4oz or 8oz mason jar? Thanks for posting the printables too 🙂 Can’t wait to start crafting!
I actually used the 16 oz wide mouth jar. In the printable I included sizes for both wide mouth and regular mouth ball jars. There are 3 versions of the wide mouth and 1 for the regular mouth. I updated the post to show the exact jar I used! Thanks! 🙂
This is so cute! Thank you for the free printable.
Thanks Crystal!
Hi! Did you use 4 oz or 8 oz mason jars for this? Just wondering because it doesn’t say the measurements for the printable lid covers. Thanks!! 🙂

What a lovely gift to give to a teacher this week!
What a sweet idea! I think I just found the perfect little teacher gift! I need to make 5 in 2 days. Totally doable! Thanks for the printables!
Thanks so much for the great idea! Just make these for my daughters’ teachers. They are adorable!
Yay! So glad to hear! 😀
hi, please email me back at heatherm907@yahoo.com
I am wanting to make these tonight. #1: what type of glue did you use to glue the paper lid covers on with? and question #2: did you use regular printer paper or card stock?!
thanks,
Heather
Thank you for the printable. Even though I didn’t use the glitter idea, I did use the idea and can top. 🙂
Awe:) Glad you liked it and could use it!! 🙂
I watched days of our lives from 2nd grade to 12th grade with my grandma…you’re not alone! haha, I just think its hilarious, because i dont watch it anymore, but i can turn it on and know exactly whats going on…something is so wrong about that..haha.
LOVED this idea! I made 12 of them for almost everyone at my children’s school. Thank you so much for helping to make me look so good! 😉
Oh! That is so good to hear!! 12!! Oh my! You were a busy lady:)
Any chance you could make a similar label that could be used for a gift for a caregiver or school nurse? Maybe “It takes a big heart to care for little people” or something? My Little has a condition that requires us to have a close working relationship with her school nurse. Would love to make this for her!!
Hi Stacey! I am so sorry this is a bit late but I did make a new version of the jar for you. I went ahead and updated it in the original post. There is a link that reads Valentine for care givers. 🙂
YAY! Thank you SO much! 🙂
I don’t know why but I can’t figure out how to print these. Where is the download link?
Silly Me! I found it. It’s clear as day. *shaking head* Thank You!
Oh good!!! I am glad you found it Sara!! 🙂
Hi! If you used the 16 oz wide mouth jars, how many dove hearts fit in there? I have to make 5 of these and I don’t want to go broke on candy!!! I may buy the 8 oz wide mouth jars to cut my cost down! Such a cute idea! Thanks for the free printable!!!!! Much appreciated!!!
Hmmm. I think it was about half the bag with the dove hearts. You could also mix some Hersey kisses or other wrapped candy to the mix to keep costs down. I know that the dove chocolates tend to be on the pricey side but they are soooo good 🙂
I am waiting for the doves to go sale at target with a cartwheel offer.
Hey Tori…I love this idea, so cute. I bought all the items to make my jars; however, I need 8 of the small 8oz jar lid printables. I know that you provide a printable with it on there, but I was wondering if you could make a printable with just that size (the small one), along with a one with just the gift tags?!?!?!?! I hope you are able to help with this!!!
Katie
Hahaha. That is my same dilema. I read through all the comments hoping this had been addressed. I tried to play around with it on my computer, but it’s a PDF :-/.
No problem – the files have been updated by size.
Hi,
I just made all the glittery jars and filled them but the link to the teacher ones isn’t printing right for me. It could be just me but I have tried it several times and it prints half a circle and two tags. Help please! I am trying to print just the small jar lids. Thank you for such a cute idea!
Hi Kate,
Sorry it wasn’t printing right! I just uploaded a new file. It should work!!
Hi Kate – I updated the files by size!
Thank you for the quick reply. It works now! So cute!!
Kate after glittering all of your jars did wash them before putting candy in them etc??
Awesome! Its actually awesome piece of writing, I have got much clear idea about
from this paragraph.
Thanks so much for the printables! When I first found this I thought I’d have to re-create the design so this saved me so much time. I put peanut valentines m&ms in my jars instead of the Dove chocolates.
Amazing things here. I am very satisfied to peer your article.
Thanks so much and I’m having a look forward to contact
you. Will you please drop me a e-mail?
These are so adorable! Thank you so much for sharing the idea and printables. I just printed them out and they are going to be so cute!
Thank you so much!! You just helped me out a ton. I love these… thanks for sharing (:
So I added glitter to a few of jars and they have that glue odor/smell left on the inside. Is it ok to run it thru the dish washer on a light cycle?? OR what did you do?
Also where did you get the twine to tie around the jars??
Thank you
