The craft is the most important part of the craft party!   The craft needs to be easy enough that everyone can enjoy doing it.  There is also an issue of time. You don’t want the craft to be too quick or too long. It can be tricky to find the right balance!

Stenciled Kitchen Towels | Lil Mrs. Tori

That is why I went with stencils! I absolutely fell in love with the Handmade Charlotte stencils while I was at CHA this year.  The designs are adorable and very on trend.  You can check out her complete line here. Stenciling is pretty easy to do and it’s a craft anyone can do.

Seriously!

decorating a kitchen towel

Start by laying out your towel.  I use a little bit of painter’s tape to keep my lines straight.  Then pick out some of your favorite paint colors. For this towel I used Martha Stewart’s Multi-surface paint.  You also can’t go wrong with the Folk Art Multi-surface paint. The stencil I used is the Handmade Charlotte Patterns Stencil Set.

Using a dauber dab a little paint on to the stencil.  Then lift and repeat across your towel. That is all!

Here they are hanging in my kitchen! What I love about stencils is that you can really use your imagination.  The sky is the limit pairing up different stencils. That is one of the reasons why I love the Handmade Charlotte Stencils it has a ton of designs per pack to choose from.

In this towel I am using the Handmade Charlotte Woodland Stencil Set. Anyone like that song too??

and another one! I really enjoyed making these towels!  It also helps to have several examples to show your party guests.  That’s what I told myself anyway. 🙂
