Hello my Silhouette-loving friends!
It’s Silhouette Challenge day and I’ve got an easy fun fall project for you. I wanted a wooden sign for my fall decor this year and this one was super easy to make!
I used a regular pine board and stained it with this Rust-oleum Dark Walnut stain. I let it dry over night.
To create the stencil I used the fonts Stringfellow and Calisto MT. The wheat is from the Silhouette Online Store and can be found here. Usually, I use vinyl to make a stencil for wood but because of the move all my vinyl is in storage. Cardstock will work in a pinch! Cardstock becomes tricky if my design is complicated and has a lot of floating pieces but this design wasn’t too hard. I ended up using tape glue to keep my floating parts of the stencil in place. I also taped each side of the stencil to my board to prevent any shifting. Using a round pouncer, I carefully painted the board. I used Americana Acrylic Paint in Light Buttermilk.
The wheat for the sign is done in Martha Stewart Golden Pearl. It’s one of my favorite paints because it has a pretty golden glow to it when it catches the light.
