This is my first post of 2016! I have had my nose to the grindstone this year! It has been great! I love creating logos and creating custom designs for my clients. I have so many awesome new logos to share with you in the coming weeks! Today, I wanted to share a special one that I had so much fun with. My friend, Jessica, from Cutesy Crafts wanted to get a refresh for her design this year. She knew what she wanted and didn’t want to stray to far from her original logo. When I start I like sketching out the logo on paper. This helps me put together the logo later on in Illustrator.
As with all my clients, we open up a secret pin board or they invite me to their own secret design board. Taking a look at her board,I saw that she wanted softer colors and hand drawn elements. So I softened up the colors and hand drew the spool for her main image. I created this style board for her to use so that she has a handy reference to refer back to when creating additional elements for her blog.
I hand drew a few sewing elements like pins, buttons, and a needle. These elements worked really well for her sidebar labels! They are actually the favorite part of my project! I also created two patterns for her to use for whatever she would like and some hand drawn dividers. You can check out all the designs in action on her site. Let me know what you think!
Thanks Jessica for the fun project! I hope you love your new design! If you are looking for a new design head over to my design page for more details!
