I was reading one of my favorite craft blogs, Gingersnap Crafts and she is holding (along with a few other great bloggers) a fun Pinterest challenge called Pinspired and Rewired. This month’s theme is Wreaths. I’ve been collecting all my supplies to make a wreath for like a month now. It’s been sitting in a chair waiting for me to do something with it. So when this little challenged popped up it was just the motivation I needed to get me moving. The great part about this project is that I had everything on hand already!
This wreath was really easy and fast to make. It took me less than 3 hours with all the cutting. Here is what you need:
- 18 inch wire wreath form
- 1 yard muslin
- 1/2 yard of white, burlap, blue, and stripe fabric
I cut about 6 inch strips about 1 inch wide. You don’t have to be exact when cutting. That’s the great thing about this project. If you cut a strip too long or too skinny it will blend in.
Then sit down and watch your shows you recorded on DVR because now your just tying all those strips to your wreath.
I doubled knotted the fabric but I only single knotted the burlap. It seemed to be just as secure. Be prepared to get a little messy. The burlap and fabric will fray a little and it will get all over your clothes and couch.
Once the wreath is completed make your fabric medallion and adhere with a dab of hot glue.
