I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! We had such a fun time! On Friday my husband surprised me! He booked me a massage:) It was so nice! On Saturday, I finally got my hair done! Don’t you just feel amazing after a good cut??
Then, we had a lot of friends over for BBQ, corn hole, and other games! Sunday, we went down to Avila Beach. We were trying to find the humpback whales that have been feeding there this past week. There were a ton of people and I saw nothing!! I’m hoping to go back sometime this week to see them. Instead they played basketball and I played “photographer”. I got a new lens and it’s been taking me a little while to figure it out.
I also wanted to let you know about a new book that came out last week that I contributed to! It’s called Transparent Teaching of Adolescents: Defining the Ideal class for Students and Teachers. My high school Theatre teacher, Mrs. K, reached out to all her former students and wanted our perspective of how our experience in class was. When I got the email to participate I thought this was such an awesome opportunity! So I sat down and wrote all I could remember from her class.
The book deals with strategies you can use in your classroom. It covers topics on organization all the way to behavior problems. What is neat about this book is that it has insights from real students not just stories. We have a voice in the book telling teachers what worked for us and what did not. If you know someone who is starting out their teaching career, still in school, or even a seasoned teacher then please pass along this information. It truly is a must read. **Side note: SO COOL that I’m listed on Amazon!! 😉
