We were invited out to Hyundai’s Epic Play Date that was held at Dos Pueblos Ranch near Santa Barbara. I didn’t quite know what to expect but we were all so excited to attend. So we jumped in the car around 7 am and headed 2 hours north along the coast. This was my first blogging event and it was pretty neat to be there and see some of the bloggers that I read. Dooce, Mighty Girl, Say Yes to Hoboken, Girl Gone Child, and How to be a Dad all ran certain activities for the day.
Yup. There is my kid. He loves to run. Usually away from me but there was SO many fun things for him to play with he could hardly contain himself. The place where they held this event, Dos Pueblos Ranch, was just so pretty. Being in the middle of LA I really appreciated getting out of the city into this serene setting. It was simply gorgeous. I kept thinking how pretty a wedding would be here.
We played a little Epic Volleyball. Some of the balls where bigger than he was!
Ryan enjoyed most of the festivities from the comfort of his stroller.
Here was our schedule of events for the day. They called everyone in the barn after they served a wonderful breakfast then we all broke out into groups. Our first activity: Paper Rockets.
Here I am trying to make a rocket. J quickly stepped in for me and this ended up being his favorite activity. He wouldn’t leave that rocket making table.
and blast off. It was pretty cool!
At the paper rocket table I met Shannon from The Mommy Files.
After rockets we made balloon swords.
Then we all checked out the Hyundai Sante Fe. J gave it a thumbs up for it’s turbo sporting engine.
We then had about 10 minutes to make a tin foil costume fit for battle. All my Game of Thrones watching helped me for this one.
Then they had a relay race to get a whip cream beard.
This picture pretty much sums up the entire day. He LOVED it! We made some great memories and I met some great bloggers. Thank you to Hyundai and all that were involved putting together this event. It was a pretty epic day for our little family. One that we will always remember.
