While in Florida we had a birthday party for B and my nephew Korbin. It was a no-brainer when it came to a theme! Superheroes won hands down. So I set out on Pinterest for some superhero birthday inspiration. The first blog I stumbled upon was Serving Pink Lemonade. She has a template for masks.
These masks are super easy to make. You will need:
– Felt sheets
– Elastic (one bundle makes about 15 masks)
– Scissors
– Template
I cut out the template then pinned the template to the felt sheet. Then I just cut around the template. Easy Peasy.
With my scissors I cut slits on either side. I measured my son’s head to see how much elastic I would need. Remember too much can make it loose. You want it to be a little on the tight side because it will stretch. I then just tied on the elastic in a knot. Done.
Bad guys beware. Super B is here.
You can’t be a superhero without some capes.
I had none of my craft/sewing supplies while in Florida. It was amazing these even turned out. I seriously was cutting sideways on the floor while dogs pounced on the fabric. It wasn’t pretty or fun.
I used a silky type fabric. It was the cheapest fabric I could find. I then hemmed around the edges and added Velcro at the top. I followed closely to this pattern. Her capes are too cute.
Once your capes and masks are made it time for some superhero fun.
He was faster than a speeding bullet.
When your all finished with your capes and masks hang them up on some rope. It doubles for some cute party decorations.

How cute! They look so easy – very creative!
