This is such a simple project to pull off before the holidays! I am so busy this time of year but I really love decorating for fall. So I whipped up this garland one afternoon.
Here is what you will need:
Paper
Fishing wire/thread
needle
Leaf Design – 3 leaves & 4 Leaves
Cut out your leaves. This was my first time using glitter paper. I read a tip somewhere to place the glitter side down. It worked great.
Once they are all cut out. Find a good movie and string them onto the wire. I did this part while watching Monster’s University with my B!
I used fishing wire on one and canvas cord on the other. I preferred the fishing wire.
Secure the ends with knots and your finished!
Mantle isn’t exactly done but almost! I love the way my garland looks!
I also made another one for my fireplace.
Super simple way to add some fall indoors!

Tori this is beautiful! (And you know I love that “Give Thanks” board, too! Gorgeous 🙂
Thanks Kirsten! The Give Thanks is my favorite too:)
This is such a great, simple way to add a bit of fall to your decoration. Thanks for the tips on the glitter paper, I never would have thought of that!
Thanks Kristy! I love simple projects too! Besides the leaf cutting I strung together those leaves while watching a movie! My kind of crafting:)
Can you please come decorate for me? I love everything on your shelf! I really like the glitter paper paired up with the different prints.
Haha! I will be right over! I love to decorate:) Thanks! The different prints were such an after thought. Initially I thought I would do the whole thing in glitter but when I made it it was a bit plain. So I threw in the papers and success! 😉
Stunning work as always, Tori. Your finished projects always have an elegance to them. (I especially love the splashes of glitter in those leaves. I’ve never used glitter paper before, so thanks for the tip on cutting it glitter-side-down.) Your fantle is looking FABULOUS! I’m in awe.
Thanks for participating in this month’s challenge, Tori, and for inspiring us with your creativity!
Thanks Lauren!! You know I can’t let fall go by without adding in some glitter 🙂
I love how simple this project is–sometimes I make decor overly complicated!
Thanks Rachel! I know I love simple projects! I sometimes make things overly complicated as well! This time of year the simpler a project is for me the better!
this.is.great.
I love it! You did an amazing job!!!
Thanks Randi!
Love how this garland turned out! Love it even more with your amazing wooden ‘give thanks’ sign peeking out.
Thanks Amy!!
Oh, I love that!! Especially the glittery leaves. The garlands go really well with your give thanks sign. Great job!
Thanks Valerie! The glitter leaves are my favorite too!
Very nice. I love the papers you used.
Thanks Glenna!
Your garland is so beautiful! I’ve never thought to use my Portrait to create a wonderful autumn garland….thanks so much for inspiring me!
Thanks Marilyn! There is so much that little machine can do!!
Finally having a chance to go through all the Silhouette Challenge project inspiration– I’m like a [big] kid on Christmas but earlier!!
You have the perfect mix of textures, leaf shapes, and colors within your garland, bravo! One of these holidays, I’m going to make some garland to hang!
Keep on being fabulous!!
What a great idea! And thanks for the tip for cutting glitter paper. I always have a hard time with it. I live for the day that I can decorate without my kids tearing it down.
I hear ya! I am a little frightened to put up a tree this year. Ryan is in that curious stage. The tree may only be half decorated!
