Hello Friends!
A few weeks back I made B some robot valentine cards for school. I wanted to make him a little bag to carry those valentines in.. So I came up with this felt bag with the same robot that is on the card.
Want to make a robot valentine bag of your own?? It isn’t very hard! Just follow the steps below.
For this bag I used 2 charcoal, 1 teal, 1 red, and 1 black sheets of felt. My felt came from my local craft shop.
Start by cutting out your robot template. Then attach on felt. Robot Template
I used these small scissors to cut my robot out. It is so much easier than using a big pair! Once my pieces were cut it was time to sew it on!
I started sewing on the eyes and mouth.
Here are all the thread colors I used for this bag. I used teal, black, red, and white.
I sewed my eyes on using black thread and a little help from the button hole stitch.
Once the robot has been sewn together it is time to put it on the front panel of your bag. Using teal thread sew all the way around your robot.
Now it is time to make the bag!
My measurements for the felt bag are: front and back panel 9 x 6.5″ || two sides 9″x 2″ || one bottom 6′ x 2″
Start by sewing the sides.
Sew the bottom.
Then the two bottom sides.
Now sew the back panel on. This part can be a little tricky. Just be sure that you are not catching the front of your bag.
Now for those handles…
For the handles I found some cute robot ribbon at a local fabric shop. I used Aleene’s Fabric Fusion Tape to adhere it on to the red strap. I love that fabric fusion tape. Once my ribbon adhered it really stayed in place!
Sew your handle on the bag and you are done!
Stuff your robot valentine’s in the bag and you are ready to pass them out!
xoxo,
This. Is. So. Precious! My son is so into robots right now (well, my daughter is too actually) and this would be just the cutest thing to make them. I love it. Please stop by our Link It or Lump It party and share with everyone!

Oh my gosh, could this be any cuter? Also, this is inspiring me to use my sewing machine more! It is sorely neglected with my Silhouette around…. 😉
Awh! Thanks Lauren! I know. I have been doing all kinds of fabric shopping lately. I found an AMAZING store right around the corner from me that sells the most unique fabric. That has inspired me to wipe the dust off. I can’t wait to see some of your sewing projects!
Tori! I saw this somewhere the other day and meant to come check it out but got distracted. It is SO cute! Love that little robot!

Aw, thanks Tori! Felt is my favorite because it doesn’t fray! 🙂
So cute!! I have three boys, and robots are a favorite. They don’t love a lot of the pink and hearts, so this would be perfect! Thanks so much for sharing!
