I really love to decorate using pillows. A pillow is the easiest way to add a pop of color or interest to a piece of furniture.  I have been in need of a pillow for the back of my makeup chair. It’s just a wooden chair with no cushion. Believe me, It’s not the most comfortable way to get ready in the morning.  Thanks to the new Tulip For Your Home line of stencils, I have the perfect little glam pillow for my make-up chair.

Here are all the goodies that were sent to me. Oh! My! was it hard trying to decided on a color.  Seriously! My go to fail safe color is always, always, always blue. I decided I needed to mix things up and I have been loving the metallic look lately. I went with the gold and I have to say I am glad I did! It’s absolutely gorgeous in the light and totally glam (which is everything this little pillow is about)!

Do you want to make your own fabulous leopard print pillow? It’s pretty easy and here is what you will need:

  • Tulip Pillowcase
  • Tulip Large Textile Stencil (Leopard)
  • Tulip Small Motif Stencil (Lips)
  • Tulip Soft Matte Fabric Paint (Gold and Tomato)
  • Stencil Spray Adhesive
  • Foam Roller

First up – Iron that pillow case! You want a smooth surface to do all your painting on. It only take a few minutes and it will make all the difference in the world. Dig out that iron and work those wrinkles.  While you are also digging out that iron, find a piece of wax paper, cardboard, something that you can place inside your pillowcase. This will prevent any bleeding once we start to paint.

Using the Stencil Spray Adhesive, lightly spray the entire back of the stencil. Allow the spray to dry for about a minute and then place your stencil onto your pillow case. Smooth out the stencil.  This spray adhesive is what makes this project easy!  It really keeps the stencil in place so you are free to paint without worry.  I seriously love this spray adhesive. It is already holding a place of honor in my stenciling tool kit.

Roll the gold paint onto the stencil. Be sure to cover the entire stencil.

Once the stencil has been completely covered wait a couple of minutes before removing. Allow your pillowcase to completely dry overnight before adding your smaller stencil.

O.k. So your pillow case is dry and you are ready to seal it with a kiss. Repeat the steps for the spray adhesive. Roll on the tomato paint, peel the stencil off, and let it dry!

That is it my friends! A very easy to do pillowcase that add just the right amount of glam to any vanity area. What I love most about this awesome little pillowcase is that I did it myself!
